Celebrate International Day of People with Disability

Aastha Community Services

Celebrate International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) with us on 3 December. This year’s theme, ‘Seeing the ability in disability’, challenges perceptions and common stereotypes, and celebrates the achievements of Australians living with disability

(NDIS Commission), instead of the NDIA.

WA is the last state to transition to the NDIS Commission and as of 1 July 2020, providers in all states and territories will fall under the jurisdiction of the NDIS Commission.

Providers wishing to apply for or add registration groups that require WA Disability Services Provider Panel (DSPP) approval will have until Tuesday 14 April 2020 to complete their application.

Providers who miss the Tuesday 14 April 2020 deadline will need to wait until 1 July 2020 to register directly with the NDIS Commission. This could mean being unable to deliver important supports and services to participants until registration is finalised.

Providers wishing to add other supports that are considered to be ‘like’ services to Commonwealth program supports they already provide, have until 30 June 2020 to apply through the NDIS for registration. This includes programs funded through Department of Health and Department of Social Services. Please check the Provider Registration Guide to Suitability for details.

While the NDIS Commission will be responsible for provider registration across all states and territories from 1 July 2020, providers will continue to interact with the NDIA for a range of functions.
